This was so lemony delicious, freshly made and soo cold, hard, and good :) I'm told there is also a drink version of sorbet, I did get to try it later on my trip (the hard ice version is better to me). Yes there was more! Everyone at the table received a glass with a scoop of sorbetto a limone (lemon sorbet).

I asked for all the leftover food to take home with me (I fed the Italian stray cats at my Uncle's house I was staying at), left overs are rare and uncommon in Italy, but the server happily wrapped up the food for me and with extra rolls. I was able to eat one fillet, many tiny bones pulled back out of my mouth, and attempted to eat the eyeballs (my Nona says it's good, the jelly stuff around the socket-yum). Very light coating of sauce it's really more like fresh juice from a tomato, and maybe wine? And I found out this wasn't even the Main Course yet!! So much food, the pasta was barely dented, and out comes a whole white fish to each person at the table. Then a huge pasta dish on linguini, fresh roasted tomatoes, herbs, and the chosen whitefish cooked in. This was soo good I strongly recommend trying!! There is a slight crunch like sand, but it's the beaks of the little fishes. My family ordered the fried baby octopus and tiny tiny fish. The bread rolls (like a hard pizza roll) on the table were ok, nothing special. Little touches and the great friendly service makes this place great. The napkins were linens as were the tablecloths. I even took video to post on my Insta The room was nice to look at it had recess lighting and chandeliers. Fried sardines and local little fish, lightly fried zucchini, roast eggplant, broccoli, sautéed spinach, local stuffed muscles (orange flesh so good), ceviche with squid and shrimp, roasted peppers, olive oil and fresh roasted garlic and herbs in many of the dishes, the platters were decorated with sliced Lemon wedges. As soon as you walk in to the dining room you can see the fresh fish displayed -to pick and have cooked for you, and the Huge assortment of hot and cold seafood and vegetable platters for the a Anti Pasto buffet. A bit of a drive from Canacattini Bagni, but so worth it ! My husband and I were treated to lunch and a visit to Notto (nearby beautiful town). One of the freshest restaurants you'll find in Sicily my family took me to L'Ancora.
